Clean Cooking Project in Madhesh Province

We are excited to start the CCA-led Clean Cooking Project, aimed at expanding access to electric cooking in Madhesh Province of Nepal, with particular focus on community mobilization and engagement, awareness raising and demand creation, and policy engagements. Transitioning to electric cooking is crucial for addressing environmental challenges, enhancing health and household drudgery, and fostering economic development in Nepal. This initiative aims to reduce health and environmental risks linked to traditional cooking fuels by providing access to cleaner and safer alternatives.

In collaboration with our trusted local partners, Janaki Women Awareness Society (JWAS) and Divya Development Resource Centre (DDRC), SPI Nepal is committed to:
✅ Raising awareness about the benefits of electric cooking technologies
✅ Conducting community-level activities/campaigns to drive demand
✅Working together with Provincial and Local Governments to promote electric cooking
✅ Supporting the adoption of electric cooking technologies by creating linkage between end-user and market

Through these efforts, we look forward to promoting sustainable electrical cooking in Madhesh Province.
